The Iida City Board of Education is now recruiting for fiscal year appointed employees (Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) ) starting April 1,2026

Duration of Employment

From April 1 st, 2026 until March 31 st, 2027 (This contract may be renewed)

Application Process

Interested candidates may submit an application from the hours of 8:30am to 5:15pm starting November 10th, 2025 (Monday) up until November 28th (Friday). If you currently reside in Japan, please submit a copy of your residence card. Applications submitted via post must arrive at the Board of Education no later than Nonember 28th (Friday).

All interested applicants should submit a standard JIS form resume. Resumes must be self-written in Japanese and include a recent photo.

Selection Process

The hiring process will consist of two stages:
 Stage 1: A screening of resumes and relevant credentials
 Stage 2: An individual interview (to be held on December 15th, 2025(Monday) up until December 17th (Wednesday))
Applicants who pass the first stage will be notified via post.

・Must be a native speaker of English or native English speaker level
・Must posses at least conversational level Japanese(also be able to discuss lesson plans with teachers in Japanese)
・Must hold a valid Japanese driver's license
・Must have completed a degree from a recognized 4 year university
・One of the following Status of Residence or the ability to attain one before the start date of your employment:
-Instructor
-Spouse or Child of a Japanese National
-Permanent Resident
-Spouse of a Permanent Resident
-Long Term Resident

 

An ALT is expected to assist both junior high and  elementary school teachers in the instruction of English. This includes making lesson materials, lesson plans, and so on.
・Work hours:Generally 8:15 am to 4:15pm (7 hours a day)
・210 working days per academic year

 

331,385 yen ～ 334,791 yen monthly
